Opening Post

Welcome to my travel blog. There are so many travel blogs on the Internet today that sometimes I wonder what I have to offer that is different. My goal is to create a blog that will serve the "novel nomads" of the world: travelers who don't fit the profiles designed by mainstream guidebooks. These include women, solo travelers, adventure travelers, culture seekers, LGBT travelers, couples on long journeys and families traveling together. These people "travel outside the norm." They have an adventurous spirit and push themselves to learn by doing and sometimes going outside their comfort zones. The purpose of this blog is providing travelers and readers of all stripes with travel writing, tips, sample itineraries, photos and more. This is not a guidebook, but a forum for sharing experiences and providing tips and information. It will include posts by myself, the administrator, and guest writers.

Some of the writing I have planned for this blog will be whimsical, some outlandish, some negative, some sad, some poignant, and some hilarious. When you travel outside the norm, either based on the path you walk in this world or because you seek adventure and exposure to novel experiences, you're bound to have a plethora of truly memorable experiences that are unique to yourself, that place and that moment. That's what this blog is about. It's also about travel planning and being informed, of course, but mostly about inspiration and reflection and learning from others' experiences.

Thank you for taking a look.
